For example, if a spokesperson grew up and went to school in the market you are pitching, make sure that’s at the top of the pitch. If a story fits with a timely news event in their market, make sure that’s first and foremost in your pitch. If it’s a gender oriented topic, tie it into the demographics of the radio station as a way to get the reporter’s interest.
