Association of Federal Credit Unions were awarded a PRSA-NCC Thoth Award at the 44th Annual Awards Gala in the media relations radio campaign category for the campaign, “Avoiding a Holiday Budget Hangover.”  We are so proud to have won this recognition in the category that had some stiff competition.  The Thoth Awards are presented each year by the National Capital Chapter of PRSA in recognition of projects, programs and campaigns that demonstrate excellence in the public relations profession in the D.C. area.

The audio campaign was incredibly effective and reached more than 25 million listeners. Fred R. Becker, Jr., president and CEO of NAFCU, and Karen Tyson, senior vice president of marketing and communications, completed interviews and provided the audience with easily understandable, actionable tips.  Overall, the campaign aimed to provide consumers with “news they could use” to stay on budget and avoid over spending during the busy holiday season.
