What is motivating, tiring, challenging, inspirational and fun all at the same time? You’re right – a conference. You learn a lot, you’re challenged, you are inspired to come back to the office and implement the strategies you learned, you meet new colleagues in the industry – and you sleep like a rock each night when you land back in your bed.
Our team recently participated in the PRSA International Conference held here in D.C. We helped sponsor the event, and also got to participate in the professional development and keynote sessions.
This conference offers such a great opportunity to network and meet people from all over. News Generation President, Susan Matthews Apgood, says, “What I loved about this conference was all the collective PR brain power both presenting and attending there to share ideas and help just make all of us better professionals.”
The panelists and speakers included esteemed and highly-successful colleagues. Where else can you learn from Chuck Todd, Amy Robach, Polly LaBarre, Mike Buckley, Walter Isaacson, Ann Wylie and Michael Smart – just to name a few?
“It’s great to get insight from the nation’s top PR folks that want to raise the bar for the entire industry,” says Jeff Gibbons, News Generation’s Director of Media Relations.
I have pages upon pages of notes in my iPad to go through, and so many ideas that I’m excited to brainstorm and work to implement. I have business cards from new colleagues I met at the conference, who I look forward to keeping in touch with and seeing again in the future.
If you’d like to see a first-hand account of the conference, read through the #PRSAICON feed on Twitter. If you were there, tweet us at @newsgeneration and let us know – we’d love to hear about your experiences!
