Join PRSA-NCC on Wednesday, July 22nd for a media training workshop discussing how your organization can better communicate with reporters.
Knowing what to say, and how to say it, is crucial under any circumstance but especially important when representing your organization to journalists. However, not everyone is trained and experienced in working with reporters, and how to handle their questions and properly tailor their responses.
This workshop will address topics such as how to respond when a reporter reaches out, how to develop on-target talking points, and how to meet the specific challenges presented by broadcast interviews. The panelists will include Ed Barks, President of Barks Communications and Carol Buckland, Executive Communication Coach at The Communication Center. It will be moderated by News Generation’s own President and Co-Founder, Susan Apgood.
The event will cover:
- How to create quotable quotes and deliver them will confidence;
- How to manage tough questions;
- How to work effectively with reporters;
- How to hone a concise, memorable message that advances your organization’s goals; and
- How to leverage your communication strategy for the long haul.
The event will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
