December marks the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first new Star Wars movie since 2005. The new movie brings back many of the characters, such as Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and C3-PO, from the original movies. One of the most loved characters from the series, however, is Yoda, a master Jedi and trainer.
Yoda offers both wisdom and lessons to his students. In an article in this month’s issue of PR Tactics, Paul J. Taylor offers public relations and communications professionals his tips and suggestions on how to be a successful PR Jedi.
Here are a few of our favorites:
Be Nice: A key part of public relations is the ability to build relationships, whether that be with clients or members of the media.
Know When to Hold ‘Em: When we find what works for our clients, we should stick with it.
Show Integrity: Doing so will help our clients, members or customers see us as trustworthy advisors.
Demand Higher Standards: Ensure that we are our own toughest critics and hold ourselves accountable for our work, and take time to assess what’s going right and where we can improve.
