Michelle picContinuing our NewsGen Ten series, today we learn a little more about Michelle Garceau!

  1. If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which would you choose? I would have to say Modern Family because it is one of my favorites and it would keep me laughing all the time.  If you would have asked me this 30 years ago, I would have definitely said Facts of Life, I always wanted to be one of those girls!
  1. What are you reading these days? I am in the midst of reading Out of My Mind. This book was required summer reading for my son last year, so I told him I would read it.
  1. Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you’d know that I like to find humor in everything, although sometimes it is a bit of sarcasm, so don’t get offended.
  1. What is the habit you are proudest of breaking? Or what habit do you want to break? I used to bite my finger nails as a child. I used to be so bad that I would get infections.   A habit that I am ALWAYS trying to break is that I tend to interrupt people. My bad habit of interrupting may be a result of the answer to #5.  : )
  1. What is your heritage? I am 100% Italian!  Nothing else… just Italian.
  1. What kind of impact do you believe you have on people? I have the power to make people feel tall.  Okay, now to be serious.  I have been told that I am a good listener and treat all people the same. I hope that I am making people feel important and loved.
  1. What’s the strangest talent you have? I really wish I had a good answer for this one, but I really don’t think I have any strange or unique talents. I can do the rub my stomach – pat my head trick. Also I can do a circle trick with my hands that a lot of people can’t. This would need to be demonstrated, but basically one hand makes a circle in one direction and one in the other. Someone showed me this when I was a kid and I was the only one in the group that could do it.
  1. What is the best compliment you have ever received? The best compliments I receive are all about my children, specifically their behavior and how they treat other people.  I am so proud when after they spend time at a friend’s house, I get a call from the parents complimenting me for the kids behavior, how they are respectful and polite.
  1. Over the course of your life, how many cities have you lived in and which was your favorite? I have only lived in three cities.  1. Bayside, Queens, which is where I was born, raised and where my mom still lives.  2. Plattsburgh, NY , which is where I went to college    3. Lastly, White Plains, NY which is where I live now. My favorite is White Plains. It is a nice blend of city and suburbs, and close to Manhattan. I like my community and the friends I have made.
  1. What was the best meal you’ve ever eaten? Were you at a restaurant or at someone’s house? That is an extremely tough one for me to answer.  My life revolves around food. I have a very very long list.  It would depend upon what city, the type of food, etc. I have had lots of favorite meals both at someone’s house and at a restaurant.  I love a great home cooked authentic meal.  Here is a favorite of mine… A few summers ago we were on vacation in Cape Cod. The kids went crabbing in the beach and we made crab soup – it was delicious. An example of sea to table dining!
